Principal Coaching
Principal coaching is born out of the NE Principal Standards to support professional learning that is: ongoing, job-embedded, collaborative, personalized, purposeful, measurable, and aligned to goals. ESU 13 professional learning staff are equipped to calibrate, consult, and coach your goals to improve professional practice.

Distance Learning Support & Course Exchange Coordination
Coordinate and support schools for both receiving and delivering distance learning courses. Scheduling distance learning courses in the ESU 13 consortium, but also statewide courses available to 21 schools. Support of NVIS.
Instructional Technology Integration Support
Provides professional development of staff and/or individuals with the integration of technology into the classroom.
LAN Manager Training and Support
Provides district LAN managers with contacts, support, a professional learning community, and quarterly meetings.
Learning Management System Support
Support and professional learning regarding district learning management system use by teachers, staff, and students.
Network Nebraska & Internet Access Support
Provide support to schools in joining Network Nebraska thru data circuits, Internet Access, DNS, IP addresses, routing and coordinating related services.
Network Planning & Consultation
Provide network security through firewall support, software installations and training of staff and member districts. Provide firewall configuration, support and automated backup for quick recovery in case of hardware failure. Troubleshooting of network issues such as packet loss or hardware issues. Prtg for monitoring network equipment.
School Librarian/Media Specialist Training Support
Provides district Librarian/Media specials with contacts, support, a professional learning community, and quarterly meetings.
Single Sign on (SSO) and Nebraska Portal Support
Provides training and support for the Nebraska Portal and SSO.
Virtual Field Trip Facilitation
Provides resources and support for schools to use Virtual Field Trips in the classroom.
Wide Area Network (WAN) Support
Internet bandwidth is supplied to member schools to meet their network needs. This service includes monitoring and firewall support, packet capturing, and viewing logs to identify issues.
Zoom video conference support
Zoom is a desktop web and video conferencing purchased for ESU 13 schools through a consortium buy. ESU 13 staff manage accounts, train and deploy zoom accounts to its member schools.
Student Services
Autism
The Western Regional ASD Network is available to provide Resources and Training to local school districts in the areas of: Assessment and verification of ASD ?Program planning, including identification and implementations of appropriate strategies and interventions for students with ASD The Western region has a lending library consisting of books, videos, and other resources that is available to school districts and parents upon request. These may be checked out from the ESU7 Media Department. This grant provides service to ESU 13, ESU 15, ESU 16 and portions of ESU 17.
Deaf Education
A teacher of the Hearing Impaired provides deaf education services and/or consultation for students verified as deaf or hard of hearing. Our Deaf Educator works with audiologists to ensure appropriate aural rehabilitation services to students, families, and schools.
Early Childhood Special Education
Early Childhood Special Education services includes managing referrals and conducting evaluations of children birth to 5 years old. If children are in need of special education services; it also includes evidence based service delivery of comprehensive services in homes, childcare and preschool settings that adhere to IDEA Part C and Part B (619) rules and regulations. The teams also works to smoothly transition verified children to their elementary schools as they move on to kindergarten. Schools can utilize coordinators to help manage their Teaching Strategies GOLD requirements.
Improving Learning for Children with Disabilities/PeAK
PEaK, formerly known as ILCD stands for Improving Learning for Children with Disabilities, a Nebraska Department of Education Initiative designed to enhance program improvement that will result in better outcomes for children with disabilities. The ESU 13 PEaK Coordinator assists school districts with their improvement activities for students with disabilities. The Facilitator partners with districts to gather and analyze data in collaboration with the Continuous School Improvement Process and to assist in the development of Targeted Improvement Plans. Each Nebraska school district will develop a Targeted Improvement Plan that will lead to better child and student performance and report annually to NDE on the Plan's progress.
Job Coach Training
Support schools in training and supporting Job Coaches
Medicaid in Public Schools Maximus Support
Support is provided for schools to support the process of entry into Maximus and support for completion of Medicaid in Public Schools paperwork.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is a related service for students birth to age 21, as identified through the student’s individual education program (IEP) process. The focus of the service is to enhance the student’s education and foster a level of independence.
Outside of School Placement and Alternative Educational Service
Educational opportunities for students in need of Outside School Placements. ESU 13 area schools include LifeLink, Meridian, Panhandle Beginnings Therapeutic Day School and Valley Alternative Learning Transitioning Schools. ESU 13 provides educational programming, curriculum instruction and related services.
Program Supervision
Special Education Supervision Birth to 21. Education and support for parents, and school staff surrounding special education. Supervise ESU 13 staff and programs. Attend IEP/MDT meetings as requested. Provide training for teachers, administrators, bookkeepers. SRS District management.
Secondary Transition Support and Training
Transition Staff assists district staff with student transition plans. These responsibilities may include program planning, coordinating events and PD, monitoring, evaluating, educating, and implementing transition services and supports. Transition Staff also work with outside agencies.
Special Education Financial Collaboration and Support
Assist schools in the completion of SPDFFRS and Finance Collaboration and Networking
Speech Language Pathology
Certified staff member who delivers diagnostic, therapeutic, consultative services for students with verified speech/ language disabilities. Maintains and completes necessary paperwork following recommended guidelines.
