2023 - 2024

2020 - 2021
ESU 10

Staff Development Services (84-002.05A)
Notes:

What professional learning or support do your teachers need to implement the strategies selected to meet your school improvement goal(s)?

  • Beginning of the year, early outs on Wednesday (typically the first Wednesday of the month)

How will the principal or other school leaders support the learning and monitor for effectiveness? How can we assist in your implementation efforts?

  • Using the ODIE eval tool, but have noticed several grammatical errors that need to be correct.

We are trying to be more strategic in our services and helping you to be more strategic in professional learning that supports your initiatives. For example, we have been in a school and provided the same MAP training 5 times, however, the staff hasn’t made progress in the use of MAP data. What student, educator, and system data will be collected to plan, assess, and evaluate professional learning?

  • The CIP steering committee will continue to do annual data reviews looking at state testing data, NWEA MAP Growth data, demographic data, and perceptual survey data.

Have you thought of anything that the T&L Department could help you with that we aren’t currently offering?

  • None at this time

We offer several leadership opportunities.  Do you feel these opportunities are helping you grow as a leader of learning in your district?  If you’re not currently participating, why not?

  • Satisfied with current offerings

Do you have any other questions for us? None at this time

Implementation Support

  • Assessment/NWEA: The district will have a new assessment coordinator and they are willing to send this new staff member to a training at the ESU

  • Continuous School Improvement: They plan to send the steering committee to CIP TA day on September 28 and would like support throughout the year as they prepare for their year 5 visit. As of March 9, 2020, they are still deciding if they will remain with Cognia or change to Frameworks.

  • Curriculum: They would like support onsite and at ESU 10 for Social Studies teachers as they move through the curriculum process.

  • HAL: Through strategic planning, they have identified a need to support high ability learners in their districts. They plan to continue to attend student activities, and they would also like to provide a training around HAL/differentiation strategies that can be incorporated into daily lessons.

  • Instructional Coaching: Dale would like to know the dates of the ICC for the year.

  • Instructional Supports: The team would like to implement a Marzano training for new teachers that would meet 4 times throughout the year. With the first being on August 11 for 3 hours in the morning and 3 more times throughout the school year for 90 minutes on early outs. The team would also like to schedule a Marzano review for all staff.

  • MTSS: The team would like to have Patrice support James Ford as he leads the process at the elementary (on request) and begins the process at the middle school (9/28+)

  • Paras: They plan to send paras to the August 10th para training at ESU 10, and may like to look at scheduling a training during one of the early outs during the school year.

  • Title III: The team will continue to support Marcie Kostrunek in her role as the Title III administrator and teacher and would like to look at training for teachers working with English learners during the year.

  • Writing: The team is interested in possibly sending teachers to Write Tools or having ESU 10 lead a writing training for all curricular areas to help with the writing goal for the high school.

  • New Teacher Academy: They plan to send brand new teachers to the New Teacher Academy on July 27-28, October 6, and January 20.
