2023 - 2024

2020 - 2021
ESU 10

Staff Development Services (84-002.05A)
Notes:

What professional learning or support do your teachers need to implement the strategies selected to meet your school improvement goal(s)? What dates and times have you designated for professional learning in 2020-21? Early Out, Late Start, A specific day of the week, monthly, etc..

  • Do not know at this time

How will the principal or other school leaders support the learning and monitor for effectiveness? How can we assist in your implementation efforts?

  • Staff is asked to come back and present to the appropriate audience what they learned.  This did not work well because teachers just rehashed the agenda. Discussed having teachers share artifacts of application of learning a month after professional learning.

  • Discussion was on accountability - consider having their instructional and tech coach support the learning.

  • "What other schools are doing?"  Asked if we considered having a “database” of effective practices leaders use to support the learning and monitor effectiveness.

  • Marzano - struggling to implement with fidelity; need to get teacher buy-in from all staff

We are trying to be more strategic in our services and helping you to be more strategic in the professional learning that supports your initiatives. For example, we have been in a school and provided the same MAP training 5 times, however the staff hasn’t made progress in the use of MAP data. What student, educator, and system data will be collected to plan, assess and evaluate professional learning?

  • Use student data when implementing new instructional materials and curriculum or if they start a new instructional strategy.

  • Do not use any formal evaluation of professional learning.

Have you thought of anything that the T&L Department could help you with that we aren’t currently offering?

  • Mental Health - they feel this is a bigger need then even OT and PT

  • CTE - could the ESU help form a partnership like Jenny in the Broken Bow area?

We offer several leadership opportunities.  Do you feel these opportunities are helping you grow as a leader of learning in your district?  If you’re not currently participating, why not?

  • Does not always come to the Principal meetings because there is also the Region IV Principals meetings and the FKC Principals meetings so it is to much time out of the school building.

Do you have any other questions for us?

  •  STEM Trailers - where is best place to set up?  Concerned about the safety of the equipment if on the stage.

  • How are other schools meeting the needs of HAL students?

  • Do we offer training on “Effective Use of Planning Time”?

  • Does ESU 10 have a Marzano + NDE = Evaluation Tool?

  • Do any other schools use iObservation?

  • Need help… Teachers and paras working together effectively; Identifying the purpose of the paras in the classroom.  Do we offer on site training/support?

  • Do we offer training (KSB) for adults about appropriate adult and student relationships (ex. Giving an athlete a ride home, social media, etc.)?

  • Do we offer training for K-12 writing in all content areas?
