There are several key components to this area, first a lot of the trainings we are able to do on-site so we are getting great staff development without having to leave the building.
With educational training/development we are improving the quality of our education for our students in the classroom which is an invaluable service.
Another major service is their help in dealing with mandates for the state and federal governments. This help is a major benefit we receive and has really helped us with the increase of information the government is asking for in different areas.
Another benefit has been information on questions we receive from the ESU 7 PD Department. There are a lot of times where we have questions but don't always know where to look for information but ESU 7 staff always gets us going down the right path.
I would think for Clarkson Public Schools to replace and fund these services it would cost the district in excess of $100,000-$125,000. If ESU 7 didn't exist I am sure we would have to hire a FT Tech Coordinator/Specialist to take care of our needs.
There would be additional costs in the area of creating a position for professional development. I would venture to guess that we would try and make this position
multi-functional and try and use it for Professional Development and Instructional Coaching.
The money we would spend would not be able to cover the resources we currently are receiving from the ESU 7.
