Qualitative Data Evidence of Adding Value to Shelby - Rising City Public Schools
As a C2 size district we do not have the expendable resources or full-time need for many of the services we can share through ESU 7. I can assure you we are able to have a higher level of professional development, teacher instructional support, and student support services through an ESU then we could have through independent contracting. Shared services for smaller districts are the most fiscally responsible way to do it. Going without the services would leave a void for students and could potentially debilitate the effectiveness of rural schools in Nebraska. Don't lose site of the fact that 75% of the Districts in Nebraska can't afford or acquire the services an ESU provides. Given the fiscal constraints being placed on those top 25%, due to not funding TEEOSA, it may be the ESU's in Nebraska that keep valuable students services available to all students in the State of Nebraska. Our investment in our ESU is an investment toward high quality services for our students that we could not acquire on our own.
